Key highlights from the report:
We continue to invest in those who will inspire future generations – 102 scholarships were awarded across our five programs, with a total investment of $4.3 million over the life of the scholarships, including co-funding from our university partners.
Westpac Scholars value the scholarship experience - 95% of Scholars said they are more confident in their ability to contribute to the prosperity of Australia as a result of their scholarship, and 92% believe their leadership potential has been enhanced*.
Leadership development remains a core focus - 65% of 2019 Westpac Scholars participated in a bespoke Leadership Development Program, and 92% of Scholars overall feel their leadership potential has been enhanced as a result of their scholarship*.
Collaboration continues to drive outcomes – The Trust worked in close collaboration with our university partners to develop bespoke leadership programs for the Asian Exchange and Young Technologists Scholarships. All five scholarships will now include an official leadership development program from 2020. We are also seeing more connections and collaborations forming through the W100 Scholars Network, with 66% of Scholars attending a W100 event in the last 12 months*.
Since its inception, the Trust has invested in 416 scholarships valued at $20.2 million in partnership with 22 universities across Australia. In April 2020, we will welcome our next 100 Westpac Scholars.
