Nick Pearce, Westpac Scholar

Westpac Scholars Trust are proud to release their 2023 Impact Report which recognises the impact of the Westpac Scholars Program and highlights the big ideas and contributions they’re making to drive positive change in Australia.

In 2023 we awarded $4.9M to 100 Westpac Scholars, and now have over 730 scholars in the W100 Alumni Network. This year we surveyed scholarship recipients since 2020 and 94 percent agree the program has given them access to opportunities they wouldn’t otherwise have had, while 89 per cent report feeling more confident to contribute to the future prosperity of Australia as a result of the program.

Since the Trust’s inception, we have now contributed $40M to individuals whose passion, big ideas and leadership is driving positive change in our country. Together with 14 university partners across Australia, we offer five scholarship programs to support students, researchers and social entrepreneurs to create a more inclusive country, a thriving tech sector, a sustainable future and contributing to Australia’s presence in Asia.

The report also shares many extraordinary stories from Westpac Scholars engaged in meaningful pursuits and their impactful work and research is already making a positive difference in the world.
