About me

I am a chemist, passionate about contributing solutions to the pervasive problem of climate change, particularly by addressing the depletion of the finite resource, crude oil. Beyond its use as a fuel, crude oil is vital to many manufacturing processes. My research aims to reduce our reliance on crude oil by developing alternatives using abundant resources such as carbon dioxide. I envision a future where everyday products (pharmaceuticals, cleaning products, cosmetics, etc.) are no longer made from crude oil but instead from carbon dioxide! As an inherently curious person, I’ve always been drawn to a good challenge or problem. In addition to big issues like climate change, this curiosity persists when I’m not in the lab. Whether it’s travelling abroad, trying out a new coffee shop, talking to someone new, or simply immersing myself in a good book, I’m always exploring and trying new things. I also enjoy bringing some chemistry into the kitchen by baking creations to share with my friends and family.
"Transitioning to more sustainable methods is imperative as crude oil is a finite resource rapidly depleting. We need to limit the damage done to the planet during these processes and reduce Australia’s environmental footprint."
