About me

Growing up in regional Western Australia, surrounded by wildlife and the ocean, I’ve always felt most inspired and at ease when I’m close to Mother Nature. These early experiences sparked my passion for marine conservation, which has led me to the pursue a degree in Environmental Science at Murdoch University, where I’m building the skills to protect ocean ecosystems and support environmental resilience. I’ve gained experience through eco‑tour guiding, sustainability stewardship programs, and running my own business, all of which have shaped my goal of creating a career that blends science, technology, and community engagement to drive meaningful change. I’m excited to keep growing as a leader and expanding the impact I can make. Technology plays a powerful role in how I understand and protect the natural world. For me, it represents possibility: new ways to monitor ecosystems, support conservation efforts, and connect communities with the environments they depend on. I’m especially interested in how emerging tools can strengthen marine science and improve the way we respond to environmental change. My current focus involves drone‑based whale monitoring paired with the analysis of biological excretions to assess the health of megafauna and, in turn, the ecosystems they inhabit. I’m excited by the potential for innovation to create more effective and accessible conservation solutions, and that’s why I’m genuinely looking forward to the networking and opportunities offered through this scholarship.
I want to help create a future where technology and science work together to protect Australia’s marine life. This scholarship opens doors to new ideas, mentors, and experiences that will help me turn that goal into something real. I’m grateful for the support and excited for what I can contribute.
