About me

I am interested in how transport and well-designed density can improve everyday quality of life in cities. My academic focus has been on transit-oriented development, housing, and urban economics, particularly how good public transport and thoughtful mix-use densification can create more connected, liveable, and socially inclusive neighbourhoods. I am motivated by the idea that density does not have to mean congestion or loss of amenity, but can instead support better access to jobs, services, and community life. Time spent in dense cities across Asia has reinforced my belief that transport and land-use decisions shape how people experience their city on a daily basis.
For generations, Asian cities have moved millions of people efficiently without losing the things that make streets feel alive. Markets spill onto footpaths, public spaces are woven into the city's fabric, and transport is an integral part of how daily life functions. As Australia densifies, there's a lot we could learn from this region.
