Australia in Asia

About me

Growing up in Western Sydney, I have always been shaped by the talent, resilience, and cultural diversity of my community. Living in Japan for 16 months, I learned that these communal attributes are exactly what connect Australia to the Asia-Pacific region on a people-to-people and business level. I am currently studying a Bachelor of Laws and International Studies at Western Sydney University while working at Ashurst, an international private law firm with a strong presence across Asia and longstanding relationships with major Asian clients. I have developed a keen interest in the intersection of law and international trade and I am excited to build a career in this space, whether in private practice or public service. I am passionate about strengthening two-way investment between Australia and Asia and the role law plays in building trusted, sustainable cross-border partnerships. Outside of these ambitions, I enjoy sending hand-written letters home to friends and family during my travels and playing social basketball.
Growing up in Western Sydney showed me that diverse communities already have the cultural fluency and global perspective Australia needs to lead in the Asia–Pacific. I want to strengthen two-way investment and trade with Asia, while helping others from communities like mine recognise their value in designing Australia’s regional future. This Fellowship represents an opportunity not only to deepen Australia’s regional ties, but to broaden who gets to shape them.
