About me

With 15 years of Indonesian language study prior to setting foot in Indonesia, I have long valued Asia-capability. Given the incredible opportunity of a year-long exchange program in Indonesia, I was able to observe the impacts of Indonesian literacy first-hand, which forever changed the way I think about Indonesia, as well as its role in the region. Witnessing the Australia-Indonesian youth engagement decline first-hand has only strengthened my motivation to contribute to Australia-Indonesia ties, build inter-cultural knowledge, and share unique perspectives and insights through heightened communication and innovation. My studies in Indonesian, Anthropology, and International Development, alongside volunteer experience, demonstrate my commitment to people-to-people connections as the basis for regional relationships. After graduation, I hope to continue working in this realm, advocating for the importance of not only Indonesia-capability, but Asia-Pacific capability as a whole.
Engaging with Indonesia necessitates engagement with ASEAN – both as one entity and as a collective of nations and regional powers. Through the Westpac Australia-Asia Fellowship, I will be able to gain insights directly from ASEAN leaders and innovators, learning how Australians can work towards more meaningful regional collaboration.
