About me
A decade of exploring numerous career paths across four continents led me to establish a life in Southeast Asia. Living in Cambodia exposed me to significant health inequities, sparking a passion for accessible healthcare and ambitions toward a career in biomedical research.
During my undergraduate studies, I continued to strengthen my ties to the region through study in South Korea, Malaysia, and Singapore. Now an MPhil candidate at QUT, I am passionate about finding innovative solutions to democratise healthcare. I aim to leverage my background to strengthen research collaborations between Australia and Asian institutions, advocating for inclusive solutions that reflect our regional diversity.
Driven by a genuine curiosity, I find my greatest inspiration meeting new people and learning about different cultures, getting outdoors to explore, and all things food. These personal interests, paired with my professional foundation, reinforce my commitment to promoting health equity through both scientific rigour and community engagement.
The Westpac Australia-Asia Fellowship will enable my continued engagement within the Asia-Pacific region and deepen my intercultural skills. I look forward to being challenged by diverse perspectives and to forging new connections. In the future, I will leverage these skills and networks to strengthen research collaborations between Australia and Asia.
