Australia in Asia

About me

I am an emerging lawyer and independent scholar with a strong interest in commercial law and Australia’s relationship with Asia. I grew up in South Australia and moved to Canberra to study at the Australian National University, where I am completing a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Politics Philosophy and Economics. I aspire to become a leading commercial lawyer and contribute to shaping Australia’s Asia strategy. My focus is on strengthening Australia’s understanding of Asia’s diverse legal systems, commercial practices and regulatory frameworks relevant to major projects and investment. I am also interested in law in society and contribute to publications using empirical and socio legal methods. Beyond my professional work, I am involved in projects across the subcontinent, including Tamil Futurist Architecture and I love studying old philosophy and folklore. I look forward to deepening my regional knowledge of Asia through the Westpac Australia-Asia Fellowship program.
Geography has placed Australia in Asia. The question now is whether Asia is reflected in Australia. Through deeper understanding of the region’s legal and commercial systems, I hope to help shape a relationship that is reciprocal, resilient and built for the century ahead.
