Australia in Asia

About me

As a young man from the New South Wales countryside, I never imagined the role Asia would play in my life. But having been swept up in the multiplicities of its cultures, moved deeply by the incredible men and women who shared their country's story with me, and passionate about Australia's future in Asia - I came to embrace being an advocate of closer ties to the region. As such, I am the founder and president of the Asia-Australia Youth Association and Lantern Consulting. I was a 2025 New Colombo Plan Scholar for South Korea, where I studied law at Seoul National University. At the University of Wollongong (UOW), my home university, I am a Ramsay Scholar studying law and liberal arts. I represented UOW as a Mitsui Educational Foundation Scholar in 2023, was chosen as an Australian Financial Review TOP100 Future Leader in 2025 and have written for the East Asia Forum. Outside of this, I love reading, taking long walks and teaching at Kids Church.
In this increasingly complex world, our engagement in Asia rests on clarity of vision and strength of purpose. Programs like the Westpac Australia-Asia Fellowship are essential to equipping young leaders with the wisdom, humility, network and passion to shape and deliver that vision.
