About me

I am a medical student and work in sexual and gendered violence prevention in Naarm/Melbourne. I hope to one day work as a community health doctor and help improve our health system to better provide survivor-centred responses for those impacted by gendered violence, and early intervention with people who use violence. Gendered violence has profound health, psychological and social effects on individuals, communities and our whole society. I’m passionate about the critical role that early intervention can play in preventing future violence. Our health system is well-placed to recognise and respond early across the lifespan, but often falls short. Through studying the Master of Public Health, I hope to learn more about how we can integrate informed and intersectional policy and practice approaches into the health sector. Outside of work and study, I love spending time hiking, gardening, doing pottery, and spending time with my wonderful friends and family.
Gendered violence is one of the most far-reaching public health and social challenges we face. I hope to contribute to further developing our health system, so it can better provide vital early intervention and trauma-informed responses and support for victim-survivors.
