About me
I am a paleoceanographer, diatom enthusiast and PhD student at the University of Tasmania through the Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies (IMAS). My research focuses on developing marine proxies to reconstruct past climates of the Southern Ocean and Antarctica, helping to improve our understanding of how these regions may respond to future climate change. I have participated in multiple scientific voyages, including fieldwork in East Antarctica, and have presented my research at conferences – with these experiences being both challenging and incredibly inspiring.
Alongside research, I am deeply passionate about science outreach and empowering others to feel they belong in science. I aspire to contribute to climate science while creating opportunities for people who may not see themselves represented in the field.
When not in the lab I can be found swimming, looking in rock pools at the beach or playing my violin.
The Westpac Future Leaders Scholarship is incredible. It provides the opportunity to transform passion into action. It supports people with a vision, helping them make a difference while inspiring others to believe they can too.
