About me

I am passionate about foreign affairs, diplomacy and international law. These interests developed early as a result of growing up around the world as a third-culture kid, where the people, places and experiences I encountered fundamentally influenced who I am today. In particular, my focus lies on rethinking security beyond traditional militaristic definitions to encompass broader concepts of human security. In the Asia-Pacific region, this is especially urgent, as climate change threatens not only the environment but also human rights, sustainable development, and gender equality. Our world also desperately needs to adapt. International law is being forced to confront the very definition of a nation state. As a result, I strive to address two of the defining challenges of our time: climate change and the erosion of the rules-based international order. Outside my studies, you’ll often find me exploring Canberra’s numerous hiking trails, playing social volleyball, or reading.
In an increasingly polarised and fragmented global system, I seek to examine how international law and diplomacy can, and must, adapt to shifting geopolitical realities. The Westpac Future Leaders Scholarship will enable me to contribute towards strengthening Australia’s ties and partnerships in the Asia-Pacific at a critical moment in history.
